Schools out!

Sunday, May 30, 2010 11
It has been a hectic week, the boys were in the newspaper for participating in their first walkathon.  Them  my aunt passed away and I had to make the long car ride up to Michigan all by myself. It wouldn't have been too bad if I had AC in the car or if it hadn't been 95 degrees.

I was a little upset that the kids could have came it had been a really long time since we seen my family... almost 5 years.  I really couldn't pull them out of school their last week though; They would have missed their last field trip, field day, honors day and 5th grade graduation.

Now that schools is out and Summer has (non)officially began, things should calm down a little and I should have more time for blogging and my Farmville addiction!

I am hoping to make it to Holiday world this summer they suppose to have an awesome water slide but I am not sure that I can get the time off work. What are your plans for Summer?

Grill Daddy Giveaway

Thursday, May 20, 2010 53
Grill Daddy

The Grill Daddy  is a steam powered grill-cleaning tool that sanitizes grills and eliminates the burnt on food, grease and dirt. Cleaning grills can be a difficult and time-consuming task but the alternative is far worse. Unwashed racks can house bacteria that could contaminate food and leave an unsanitary and bad taste.

Utilizing specially designed stainless-steel brushes, the Grill Daddy releases water as users brush, hitting the grill and turning to steam while rinsing away unsanitary debris.

Grill Daddy

Other features:
· Steam-powered
· No rancid greasy residue builds up on the brush (liquefies and melts it away)
· Safe for porcelain, steel and iron grills (hot or cold)
· Ergonomic handle keeps hands away from heat and provides maximum leverage

To be honest I am not one that likes to grill, the flames scare me... so I handed this one off to my husband the self aclaimed BBQ king. We or I should say he grills out several times a week even in the snow, so there was quite a bit of build-up that his everday scrapping had left behind.  I had my doubts that the grill daddy would be able to remove all the crud that was stuck in between the grates but with a little patience he was able to get it all cleaned out and looking good.

In my opinion the Grill daddy would make a wonderful gift, (Think Father's day) and can be purchased online for $19.95 at Grilldaddy.net

Journal Buddies Giveaway!

Wednesday, May 5, 2010 7

A couple months back I came across Journal Buddies online and the concept really appealed to me. We all want our children to grow up to be happy, confident, self sufficient adults; Building strong self esteem when they are young plays a significant role in how they will feel about themselves later in life.

Since my oldest son D has always been the quiet type and is not one to wear his feelings on his sleeve, I really felt that this was something that could benefit him. I contacted Jill Schoenberg, the creator of Journal Buddies for boys and Journal buddies for girls and she graciously agreed to send me a journal for us to review.  Writing in his journal has been a great way for him to express his self and something he seems to really enjoy.

What I really like about this journal and what makes it unique is that it isn't just a blank slate; it is designed to be interactive promoting fun and creative writing with many fun activities along the way.

In my opinion Journal buddies would be a great tool for any child to improve their self- worth, while also learning better writing skills and would be a great addition to any classroom as well as at home.
