Earth Day has already came and gone this year but we can still make a difference and Cascadian Farm Organics is helping make a difference and they'd love your help!

Cascadian Farm wants you to join the celebration of the 40th anniversary of Earthday by pledging to follow a few eco-friendly tips on Facebook. For each person that signs a pledge now through May 31, 2010, Cascadian Farm will donate $1, up to $40,000, to the Organic Farming Research Foundation, which fosters the improvement and widespread adoption of organic farming systems.

As the Organic Farming Research Foundation continues to sow seeds to transform agriculture, you can do your part to initiate a positive change for healthier foods and a healthier earth by visiting http://www.facebook.com/cascadianfarm and signing the pledge that’s right for you.

Dedicated to organic goodness since 1972, Cascadian Farm products are grown without the use of synthetic pesticides, chemical fertilizers or genetically engineered ingredients. With your help, we can all live greener together.

My family has stopped purchasing most processed foods as the processing produces a lot of waste and also adds to the cost. If we do buy things that are processed, we tend to choose things that have minimal packaging or recycled packaging. :)

marcia goss said...

We have always recycled newspapers, plastic, and glass containers. Our community has a recycling truck that comes our neighborhood once a week to make recycling easier. I also use reusable shopping bags whenever I go shopping.

My family and I compost kitchen scraps in a small earthworm bin. The resulting worm castings are a good source of nitrogen that we use to feed potted plants.

We have a huge recycle bin outside our back door. My husband has been recycling any scrap metal someone around us would otherwise throw away. I have been trying to teach my children about closing the doors to save on the air running too much and to turn the lights off when they are done in a room.

We are living greener by using reusable containers and bottles for school lunches. We also have stopped using an air conditioner all together in the summer to save energy and it's really not that bad. The website showed me that I should learn more about where and how the food I eat is produced. Thanks!
